We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
