He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 "Ease my task for me; 26 Unloose the knot upon my tongue, 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 and let him share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 "And remember You much, 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 [But when God's message was conveyed unto Pharaoh,] he said: "Who, now, is this Sustainer of you two, O Moses?" 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
