۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 And they say, “Are our deities better or he?” They did not say this to you except to unjustly argue; in fact they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 If We had so willed We could have made some of you into angels to become your successors on earth. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 And let not Satan turn you aside. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. 62 And when Eisa came to them with clear signs, he said, “I have come to you with wisdom, and to explain to you some of the matters regarding which you dispute; therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 63 "Verily, God is my Sustainer as well as your Sustainer; so worship [none but] Him: this [alone] is a straight way!" 64 But the factions among them differed. Then woe unto those who do wrong from the doom of a painful day. 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 Friends on that Day will be foes one to another except Al-Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 67
