Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
