And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?” 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 and at that they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?” 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 Abraham said to them: “Do you worship what you yourselves have carved with your own hands 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: Build for him a furnace, then cast him into the burning fire. 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (i.e. a ram); 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
