The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
