Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 the soul shall know what it has done, the former and the latter. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble scribes 11 who know what you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 In which they will enter, and taste its burning flame on the Day of Recompense, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
