And whosoever turns away (blinds himself) from the remembrance of the Most Beneficent (Allah) (i.e. this Quran and worship of Allah), We appoint for him Shaitan (Satan - devil) to be a Qarin (an intimate companion) to him. 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion." 38 And it will profit you not today, because ye have done wrong, that ye are in the torment sharers. 39 (Muhammad), can you make the deaf hear or guide the blind or the one who is clearly in error? 40 So if We take you away, We shall then indeed take revenge from them. 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Therefore hold fast to what We have divinely revealed to you; indeed you are upon the Straight Path. (The Holy Prophets can never go astray). 43 Verily it is a great source of eminence for you and your people, and soon you will be called to account concerning that. 44 And ask them did any of the Noble Messengers We sent before you, appoint any other Gods except the Most Gracious, whom they used to worship? 45
