The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
