Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Then the Thamud were destroyed by an awesome upheaval; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 So when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 In a lofty garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
