The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
