The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the shining star -- 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
