Man prays for evil, as he prays for good; man is ever hasty. 11 We have appointed the night and the day as two signs; then We have blotted out the sign of the night, and made the sign of the day to see, and that you may seek bounty from your Lord, and that you may know the number of the years, and the reckoning; and everything We have distinguished very distinctly. 12 And every man: We have fastened his action round his neck, and We shall bring forth unto him on the Day of Judgment a book proffered him open. 13 We will tell him, "Read it and judge for yourself." 14 Whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul. But the Hereafter is greater in degrees [of difference] and greater in distinction. 21 "Do not set up another god with God, or you will remain disgraced and destitute. 22
