Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 and what is the Resurrection Verifier? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 in a lofty Garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 And not known my account! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 I am bereft of power." 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
