The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
