The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 124 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you for it. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 amply provided you with flocks, and children, 133 "And Gardens and Springs. 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They said: it is equal unto us whether thou admonishest or art not of the admonishers. 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 and we are not going to be chastised [for adhering to it]!" 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
