The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 Then those who drive away with reproof, 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 And when they are reminded, they remember not. 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 along with our forefathers?" 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
