Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they were fixed; 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
