The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who float in space, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
