And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! 27 Shall We then treat alike those that believe and act righteously and those that create mischief on earth? Or treat alike the God-fearing and the wicked? 28 [All this have We expounded in this] blessed divine writ which We have revealed unto thee, [O Muhammad,] so that men may ponder over its messages, and that those who are endowed with insight may take them to heart. 29 We gave Solomon to David; and he was an excellent worshiper, he was penitent. 30 When well-bred horses, which were fleet of foot were paraded before him near the close of day, 31 he said: 'Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil. 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 And We indeed tested Sulaiman, and placed a dead body on his throne – he therefore inclined towards His Lord. 34 He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure). 35 We therefore gave the wind under his control, moving steadily by his command wherever he wished. 36 and also the jinn, every kind of builder and diver 37 And other demons bound in chains. 38 [We said], "This is Our gift, so grant or withhold without account." 39 And verily, nearness to Us awaits him [in the life to come,] and the most beauteous of all goals! 40
