The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken violently, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 becoming scattered dust, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 and a few from later times. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and spreading shade 30 and flowing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virginal, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38
