A multitude of those of old 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 In fierce hot wind and boiling water, 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 [shadows] neither cooling nor soothing. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 And they used to persist in the great violation, 46 And they were wont to say: when we have died and become dust and bones, shall we, then, verily be raised? 47 "(We) and our fathers of old?" 48 Say: 'The ancients, and the later folk 49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 Will eat of the tree of Zaqqum, 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 and drink on top of that boiling water 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 We have created you, then why would you not confirm it? 57 Have you considered the seed you spill? 58 Is it you who create it - or are We the source of its creation? 59 We have destined death for you and no one can challenge Us 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 You are well aware of the first creation; then, do you learn no lesson from it? 62 And have you seen that [seed] which you sow? 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment, 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Behold! the water which ye drink: 68 Do you send it down from the clouds, or We send it down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producer? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74
