Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
