The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and thick gardens grow? 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 except boiling water and pus 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
