The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 and by the night when it covers, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you an orphan and take care of you? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 Did He not find thee needy, and suffice thee? 8 Therefore do not treat the orphan with harshness, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
