There is a sign in the dead earth for them which We quicken, and produce from it grain which they eat. 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof; and their hands worked it not. Will they not, therefore, give thanks? 35 Exaltations to Him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. 36 And a Sign for them is the Night: We withdraw therefrom the Day, and behold they are plunged in darkness; 37 And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit. 40 And an Ayah (sign) for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship [of Nuh (Noah)]. 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 And if We please, We can drown them, then there shall be no succorer for them, nor shall they be rescued 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50
