Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called out to him, "Abraham, 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
