Say, "Lord, if you will afflict them with punishment, 93 O my Lord, put me not among the people of the evildoers.' 94 And We are certainly able to show thee (in fulfilment) that against which they are warned. 95 Repel evil by what is best; We know best what they describe. 96 Say, "Lord, I seek your protection against the strong temptations of the devils. 97 I seek refuge with You, Lord, lest they should come near me." 98 (But the unbelievers will persist) until when death comes to one of them he will say: "O Lord, send me back again 99 haply I shall do righteousness in that I forsook.' Nay, it is but a word he speaks; and there; behind them, is a barrier until the day that they shall be raised up. 100 So when the Horn is blown, no relationship will there be among them that Day, nor will they ask about one another. 101 Those whose scales are heavy shall prosper, 102 And as for him whose good deeds are light, these are they who shall have lost their souls, abiding in hell 103 the Fire smiting their faces the while they glower there. 104 "Were not My messages read out to you? But you denied them." 105 They shall say, 'Our Lord, our adversity prevailed over us; we were an erring people. 106 "Our Lord! bring us out of this: if ever we return (to Evil), then shall we be wrong-doers indeed!" 107 He shall say: slink away there unto, and speak not unto Me. 108 There was a group of my servants among you who always prayed: Lord, forgive us and grant us mercy; You are the best of those who show mercy. 109 "You mocked and laughed at them until you forgot all about Me. 110 Now today I have recompensed them for their patient endurance; they are the triumphant.' 111 He shall say, 'How long have you tarried in the earth, by number of years?' 112 They will answer: "We have spent there a day, or part of a day; but ask those who [are able to] count [time]" 113 He (Allah) will say: "You stayed not but a little, if you had only known! 114 Deem ye that We have created you in vain and that unto Us ye are not to be returned? 115 So exalted be Allah, the True King; no god is there but He, the Lord of the honorable dominion. 116 Hence, he who invokes, side by side with God, any other deity - [a deity] for whose existence he has no evidence - shall but find his reckoning with his Sustainer: [and,] verily, such deniers of the truth will never attain to a happy state! 117 Say, "Lord, forgive us and have mercy. You are the best of those who show mercy." 118
