And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 (We answered his prayer, healed his sickness, and told him), "Run on your feet. This is cool water (for you) to wash and drink". 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 Indeed, We purified them with a most pure quality, the remembrance of the Everlasting Life. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 Recall Ismael, Elisha, and Dhulkifl (Ezekiel) who were all virtuous people. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 the Gardens of Eden whose gates shall be open to them, 50 Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks; 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 Lo! this in truth is Our provision, which will never waste away. 54 However, the rebellious ones will have the worst place to return. 55 they will burn, in Hell, an evil resting place -- 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 “Here is another group that was with you, falling along with you”; they will answer, “Do not give them plenty of open space; they surely have to enter the fire – let them also be confined!” 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 and whom we mocked? Have they been rescued or can our eyes not find them?" 63 All this is certainly true -- the inhabitants of the Fire will blame one another in this way. 64
