And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
