I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Till death overtook us. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
