Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They said, “In fact we have brought to you the matter which these people doubted.” 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said, “These are my guests – do not dishonour me.” 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
