3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Thereupon he approached their gods stealthily and said, "What! You do not eat [of the offerings placed before you]? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And [one day,] when [the child] had become old enough to share in his [father's] endeavours, the latter said: "O my dear son! I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice thee: consider, then, what would be thy view!" [Ishmael] answered: "O my father! Do as thou art bidden: thou wilt find me, if God so wills, among those who are patient in adversity!" 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
