Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
