Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known calculated term. 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
