The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
