We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 And rescued them and their people from the great calamity. 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 And We led the twain on unto the straight path. 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Peace be with Moses and Aaron. 120 Thus do We reward the doers of good 121 Surely both of them were among Our believing servants. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 When he said to his people: Do you not guard (against evil)? 124 "Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators, 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?" 126 But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned, 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 This is how We reward the virtuous. 131 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 [So mention] when We saved him and his family, all, 134 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind; 135 Then We destroyed the others. 136 And indeed you pass over them in the morning. – 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
