Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WE HAVE GIVEN you a splendent victory 1 that God may forgive thee thy former and thy latter sins, and complete His blessing upon thee, and guide thee on a straight path, 2 and that Allah helps you with a mighty help. 3 It is He who sent down the sense of security into the hearts of believers so that their faith may increase with belief, -- God's are the armies of the heavens and the earth; and God is all-knowing and all-wise; -- 4 That He may admit the men and women who believe, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow, to dwell therein for aye, and remove their ills from them;- and that is, in the sight of Allah, the highest achievement (for man),- 5 And may punish the hypocritical men and the hypocritical women, and the idolatrous men and the idolatrous women, who think an evil thought concerning Allah. For them is the evil turn of fortune, and Allah is wroth against them and hath cursed them, and hath made ready for them hell, a hapless journey's end. 6 To God belong the armies of the heavens and the earth. God is Majestic and All-wise. 7 We have sent you as a witness, a bearer of glad news, and a warner, 8 In order that you (O mankind) may believe in Allah and His Messenger (SAW), and that you assist and honour him (SAW), and (that you) glorify (Allah's) praises morning and afternoon. 9 Those who pledge obedience to you are, in fact, pledging obedience to God. The hands of God are above their hands. As for those who disregard their pledge, they do so only against their own souls. Those who fulfill their promise to God will receive a great reward. 10
