(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Say: 'Await! I shall be awaiting with you.' 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
