The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night, when it envelops, 1 and by the day when it unveils. 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing. 14 in which no one will suffer forever except the wicked ones 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
