The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 In sport being their hearts. And those who do wrong keep secret their private discourse this is but a human being like unto yourselves; will ye then betake yourselves to magic while ye know? 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 There is not a township before them which did not believe which We have not destroyed; so will they believe? 6 The messengers We sent before you were but men whom We had sent revelations. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know this -- 7 and neither did We endow them with bodies that could dispense with food nor were they immortal. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? 10
