Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 “What! You build a structure on every height, to laugh at the passers-by?” 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 When you assault, you assault like tyrants. 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 Hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 gardens, and springs. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said, “It is the same for us, whether you advise us or not be of the preachers.” 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
