The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then he mustered 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
