The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
