The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the returning. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 or orders piety? 12 Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? 13 Did he not know that God sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
