Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring (hard in the worldly life by worshipping others besides Allah), weary (in the Hereafter with humility and disgrace). 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
