The dead land is a sign for them. We revive it, and from it produce grain from which they eat. 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands did not make it; will they not then be grateful? 35 Holy is He who created all things in pairs; of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and other things which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And a token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship, 41 And We have created for them the like of it in which they board. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 When they are told: "Spend of what God has given you," the unbelievers say to those who believe: "Why should we feed those whom God should have fed if He pleased?" You are only in palpable error. 47 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 48 [And they are unaware that] nothing awaits them beyond a single blast [of God's punishment,] which will overtake them while they are still arguing - [against resurrection]: 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
