The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Of what ask they? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 About which they have been differing? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 Living therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 And everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30
