The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
