The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
